Transforming your Mind

In this section, we discussed the order for us to begin the “Transformation” process, we must take the time to do a snapshot review of our life. The process begins with introspection. Looking inward at yourself. Doing self-examination and self-discovery. Like Socrates says you must “Know Thyself”. Where we were before we became saved, how far we’ve evolved or changed and where do we want to be. Thus we must Revolve (evaluate where we’ve been) so that we can Evolve or chart the path to where God wants to be.

You shall have no other gods before me (Romans 20:3).

What can be considered a God? Paul says "be mastered by nothing" in (1 Corinthians 6 : 12)

or in other words, not to let anything have power over you but God.

"No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money (Luke 16 : 13)

“Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness” (1 Timothy 4:7)

"Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1)

What types of things can we unknowingly make Mini-Gods in our lives? All Nouns: People, Places or Things: Food, Drugs, Parents (Mothers, Fathers), Siblings, Spouses, Grandparents, Money, Tangible things (Cars, Homes).

The purpose of this book is to help Carnal Christians to do some self-reflection of their attitude and their behavior. When we say we are Christians, this is not just a title, it means you are representing a body of Holy Christ Like Believers. It was never and still is never acceptable to make excuses for one’s sinful nature. Your behavior affects many more people than you realize; Yourself, your children, your relationships with others and most importantly your relationship with God.

Now, the Bible is truly our rule and guide book in understanding what the foundation for Christian living is but many people struggle not with knowledge but with application. Applying it to their everyday lives and situations. We must first recognize what are the issues within us that prevent us from letting go so that we can learn to let God have his way in our lives.

Take the time to review the scriptures outlined in the pages before and the Characteristics and Behaviors outlined in this book that reflect un-Christ Like behavior.
